Does my Fodera instrument have a warranty?

Yes, any new or Certified Pre-Owned Fodera instrument comes with a warranty on the materials and workmanship for five (5) years and electronics for one (1) year. You can read the full warranty here.

Does the Fodera Warranty apply to me if I purchased my Fodera instrument used?

No, the Fodera Warranty is only valid for the original purchaser.

I am an international customer that needs a repair done on my Fodera instrument. What do I do?

The first thing you should do is contact us immediately via email (service@fodera.com) or phone (718-832-3455). Describe the repair that your Fodera Instrument needs, and try to provide photos of the damage when emailing us. At that point we will send you further instructions about how to proceed. Please be advised, all shipping costs are your responsibility.

If I send my Fodera instrument to a repair shop and they have a question, what should I tell them?

If you send your Fodera Instrument to a third-party repair shop, they can always contact us via email (service@fodera.com) or phone (718-832-3455) for help or ordering specific parts. However, please note that service to third-party repair shops (unless we are offering advice about a warranty-related issue) will cost a minimum bench fee of $75 before services are rendered.

What happens if there is a problem with the neck on my Dovetail or Neck-Through Fodera? Can the neck be replaced?

In over 30 years of business, we have only had neck-related issues that have required replacing a Neck-Through or Dovetail instrument once or twice. Both of these were during the Warranty Period.

One of the parts on my Fodera instrument is broken. Can I get it replaced? 

Yes, most parts that are broken or damaged can be replaced, such as bridges, tuners, electronics, etc. However, these are custom parts only available to Fodera owners. You must prove your ownership by registering your instrument on our website and providing us with the serial number of your instrument. Once it has been verified, you can purchase the parts you need through contacting us via mail (service@fodera.com) or phone (718-832-3455).

I've damaged/ dinged/ cracked my Fodera instrument. Can it be repaired?

Most likely, yes! Most damage sustained to a Fodera Instrument can be repaired. It all depends on where the damage is, and the severity of the damage. The best thing to do is to send photos of the damage to service@fodera.com and we can advise you from there.

What routine maintenance should I do on my Fodera?

There are certain steps you can take to keep your Fodera in top condition. There are daily, monthly, and yearly tasks, as well as general tips listed on our Caring for Your Fodera page that you can read all about here.

There is something wrong with my preamp. What should I do?

There are a number of things that can be causing trouble. The first step is to make sure that your batteries are fresh. If this does not solve the problem, please take some photos of the inside cavity of your bass, showing all of the wiring connections. You can send these photos to service@fodera.com. From these photos, we may be able to determine the problem and assist you via email or phone. Depending on what the problem is, you may have to bring in your Fodera to be serviced, or replace a part in your preamp.

My frets are buzzing. What should I do?

First see this page about adjusting our Dual Action Truss Rod. If this does not solve the problem it may mean that your Fodera Instrument needs a set up! If you'd like, you can schedule a appointment to come to the Fodera shop in Brooklyn to have your bass set up (see our Repair Service Price List for more information regarding pricing). If you live far away, or are an international customer, you can bring your bass to a qualified guitar tech. If you are still experiencing problems, please contact us.
